The lovely folks at Janome are hosting a campaign with myself to get as many people to stitch their own postcard to Her Majesty The Queen and send their well wishes whilst enjoying to learn or refresh freehand machine embroidery skills. Mission
To unite and celebrate together through the wonderful medium stitch whilst sending the stitching communities best wishes to Her Majesty The Queen. Freehand machine embroidery is a mindfulness practise as well as being endlessly versatile. The potential is as big as your imagination .
Vision
To encourage participants to be creative with their postcard creation, learn or rekindle a new creative skill, feel directly involved in the Jubilee celebrations as well as sending kind celebratory wishes to our Monarch.
If desired, the participants can share their work with our supportive sewing community by sending their photos and videos to janome.co.uk by the deadline date of 21st May 2022. These will be entered into a competition to win a fantastic Janome 740DC sewing machine.
Separate to the competition an exhibition of the collated postcards will be held alongside my own Golden Threads work for physical postcard entries in Spring 2023. Deadlines for entries for is the 31st December 2022. Exhibition details to follow after this date.
